Hi, I’m Shanen! (She/Her)

I became a therapist because I find psychology fascinating and I’ve always enjoyed working with people.

For me, the best parts of being a therapist are helping clients improve their overall wellbeing and supporting them while they achieve their goals.

I love seeing the spark of hope, strength, and self-compassion that happens when clients start prioritizing their mental health and wellness.

I believe that a person’s mental and emotional health is just as important as their physical health.

Humans are complex, and there are so many interconnected aspects that make up our wellbeing.  You can see this in the way that our physical and mental health impact one another.  

When you are physically sick, your mood probably isn't the greatest.  And when you’re feeling down, you might feel it in your body, too.  

By taking care of all areas of your well-being - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual - you can unlock your full potential and allow yourself to be and feel your absolute best.

I believe that there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, so when we work together, I’ll take a holistic approach and personalize your therapy sessions with tools and interventions suited to your unique personality, needs, and goals.

I’m passionate about helping clients who have experienced trauma.

These days it's rare if not impossible to get through life without experiencing some kind of trauma.

When something unexpected and traumatic happens in your life, it can leave you feeling helpless and vulnerable. I can help you process and make meaning out of your traumatic experiences, which will help you feel empowered and take charge of your life again.

No one chooses to have trauma happen, but we can choose to heal and not have it dictate the rest of our lives.

    I’ve always wanted to explore Europe. I would love to experience hygge right in Scandinavia, or visit the Harry Potter sites and sip tea in a castle in the UK!
